Playa de Aro, gelegen ten noorden van de Catalaanse hoofdstad Barcelona, is een kustplaats die het hele jaar door ongeveer 10.000 inwoners telt. De gemeente Play de Aro ligt aan de Costa Brava, met uitzicht op de Middellandse Zee, ongeveer een half uur van de populaire, bruisende badplaats Lloret de Mar. Het is anderhalf uur van de drukke luchthaven van Barcelona en op vergelijkbare afstand van de Franse stad Perpignan aan de overkant van de Pyreneeën.
